Role: Attended Research and Innovation Symposium, interviewed grant recipients, and promoted story via social media.

Summary: Six clinical research projects received $1.29 million in grant awards to support research aimed at improving organ and tissue donation and transplantation in three to five years.

NEA Baptist Center for Good Grief Begins Offering Telemental Health Services

Role: Interviewed NEA Baptist Center for Good Grief representatives and requested photography to highlight organization’s new service offering.

Summary: The NEA Baptist Center for Good Grief planned on introducing telemental health services in January of 2021. With a global pandemic limiting the staff’s ability to meet with clients in person, they decided to start offering the service in 2020.

Inspired Interpretations of Butterflies

Role: Interviewed subject and captured photographs for story shared by Mid-America Transplant and the Governor’s Organ Donation Advisory Council’s annual report.

Summary: Deb Simaitis created a stained glass piece for Mid-America Transplant’s Family House. The 19-inch-by-23-inch framed artwork is made of 116 pieces of glass and depicts two butterflies and three flowers.

Endowed Chair

 

Mid-America Transplant received an award from Barnes-Jewish Hospital’s Transplant Center in recognition of the partnership between the two organizations and in celebration of 10,000 transplants at BJH. This script was written for the Chief Executive Officer at Mid-America Transplant.

Green Up Games

 

Mid-America Transplant partnered with universities in its service area to develop the Green Up Games to raise awareness for organ and tissue donation. Each game started with a ceremonial first pitch from a transplant recipient and/or the family of an organ donor and included a radio hit during the game. This script was written for the public address announcer at the venue.
